Advancing the cause of area schools and rural education

Staffing

Resourcing
Our Executive have continued on with lobbying of MoE Resourcing during 2009/2010 with our key resolve being an equitable treatment of Area Schools for the staffing to be provided for release of Primary Staff (1 hour per week).  We have made submissions to the Minister of Education, the Secretary for Education and the Manager of Resourcing.  An interesting event for us has been the complexity of timing for submissions made by us to the Ministry regarding staffing and the annual Budget round for the Government.  We have the feeling of being quite unclear historically, about how best to advance our cause in a timely way to bring about action.  The latest meeting with Resourcing has clearly indicated that the August part of the annual Government budget round was an ideal time for detailed discussions with Resourcing.

We know there are inequities that exist in our resourcing for our schools compared with our colleagues and we are determined to provide quality and compelling information to MoE on resourcing matters so that we can have equity.

We meet with Resourcing each quarter and we are seeking any information and data about areas of concern.  Please contact your regional executive member with any concerns you may have.
